Hi everyone, new member here just signed up as my 2006 1.6 TDCI Focus has developed a problem. Have had a read through the common problems thread but can't find anything similar so thought I'd ask for help. The car's really down on power and quite flat, struggles on hills though just about bearabl

The PCM closely observes boost pressure with a sensor called the manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP). The boost pressure sensor tells the PCM how much boost is actually being created by the turbocharger. When boost pressure is high the voltage signal is high. When boost pressure is low the voltage is low.

2.0 TDCI lump 2009. The little brown devices hooked up to the vacuum lines that 'fart' when you switch the engine off. Decided to replace them to stop the noise, but the brand new replacements have introduced a new problem. With them fitted, when you accelerate hard, the power surges on and off probably about 5 times through the rev range of 2k
Some problems that could trigger the code include a faulty turbocharger boost control position sensor, a bad turbocharger, a malfunctioning turbocharger solenoid, and electrical issues. A lit check engine light, a poorly performing turbocharger, an overboost condition, and the vehicle stuck in limp mode are some of the symptoms of this trouble
